Screening for colonization of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing organisms in stool.
Screening fecal microbiota transplant donor feces for ESBL-producing organisms.
Negative for extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing organisms
Positive for extended-spectrum beta-lactamase-producing organisms

The culture will be screened for only extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL)-producing pathogen.
Test Details
24 - 72 hours. Negative cultures reported after 24 hours.

Specimen Requirements
Please contact the MLabs Client Services Center at 800-862-7284 prior to sending specimen; test requires MLabs Microbiology Laboratory Director approval. Collect rectal swab. Store at room temperature and send within 48 hours of collection. Indicate ESBL screen on requisition.
