Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)

Test Usage

Detection and quantification of antibodies directed against adalimumab in human serum. Trough level quantitation for evaluation of patients with loss of response to adalimumab.

Reference Range *

Adalimumab: limit of quantitation is 0.8 mcg/mL. Optimal therapeutic ranges are disease specific.
Adalimumab Antibody: <14.0 AU/mL

Specimen Requirements
Collection

Collect trough specimen in a red top or SST tube. Centrifuge and aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate (preferred) for up to 7 days or freeze for longer storage.

Special Handling

If both quantitation and antibody testing are needed, regardless of the quantitation results, order ADALP / Adalimumab Quantitative with Antibody, Serum

Rejection Criteria
Plasma specimens are not acceptable.
Additional Information

If the result is 5.0 mcg/mL or less, the adalimumab antibody test will be performed at an additional charge. By ordering this test the clinician acknowledges that additional reflex testing will be performed and billed at a separate additional charge if indicated. Test sent to Mayo Medical Laboratories.
