The Michigan Medicine Clinical Microbiology Laboratory has switched from the Abbott M2000 to the Roche Cobas 600 platform for Epstein Barr Virus DNA by PCR, Quantitative, testing effective February 21, 2024. 

 

Please note the range of quantification for the old and new platforms:

 

Abbott M2000 (old):

Range of Quantification:            501 - 10,000,000 IU/mL EBV DNA

Range of Quantification:            2.7 - 7.0 Log10 IU/mL EBV DNA

 

Roche Cobas 6800 (new):

Range of Quantification:            35 - 100,000,000 IU/mL EBV DNA

Range of Quantification:            1.54 - 8.0 Log10 IU/mL EBV DNA
