Mayo Clinic Laboratories Acetylcholinesterase, RBC assay will be discontinued effective August 24, 2023, du to discontinued reagent. While not a direct replacement, the Pseudocholinesterase, Total, Serum assay (Mayo test ID PCHE1) can be used to monitor organophosphate exposure in people who work with organophosphate compounds by establishing a baseline serum pseudocholinesterase activity level then using routine testing to monitor for a significant reduction in PCHE activity.
