TEST DISCONTINUED

Chlamydia Serology, Serum

Order Code:                  SCLAM

Fee Code:                     20415 (CPT 86631)

Reference Laboratory:   Mayo SCLAM

Mayo Clinic Laboratories will discontinue their test ID SCLAM effective March 28, 2023, to remove the reporting of Chlamydia trachomatis antibodies from the Chlamydia serology panel. Diagnosis of Chlamydia trachomatis should be performed using nucleic acid detection assays, not by detection of an antibody response. See alternative tests for Chlamydia pneumoniae and Chlamydia psittaci antibody panel and for detection of Chlamydia trachomatis nucleic acid.

The recommended alternative test to aid in the clinical diagnosis of Chlamydia pneumoniae or Chlamydia psittaci infection is Mayo test ID CHLAP which includes C. pneumoniae and C. psittaci IgG and IgM antibodies by Micro-Immunofluorescent Antibody (MIF) assay.
